Junrey Balawing set to become world’s shortest man (VIDEO)
Seventeen-year-old Junrey Balawing, from Zamboanga del Norte, in the Philippines, is set to become the world’s shortest man when he turns 18 in June.
The tiny teenager stands 22 inches tall – about 5 inches shorter than Edward Niño Hernandez of Colombia, who is the current title holder of World’s Shortest Man Alive on the Guinness Book of Records.
But unlike Hernandez, Junrey often struggles to walk and cannot stand for long. His mother, Concepcion, says she noticed something was wrong as Junrey approached the age of one but no doctor was able to help.
Embedded below is a clip from TV Patrol, the flagship national network news broadcast of ABS-CBN in the Philippines, introducing us to Junrey, the world’s next shortest man.
