Kara DioGuardi Named Head Judge for New Reality TV Competition
A former judge of American Idol has been announced to become the head critic of a new reality TV competition for aspiring singer-songwriters.
Kara Dioguardi, who was a judge in A I for seasons 8 and 9, will become the head judge of Going Platinum which will air on Bravo next year.
Going Platinum will feature 12 contestants who will write songs that they will perform in front of the panel. In each episode, a different genre will be the focus of the songs to write. The judges will be the one who will decide who will stay and who will go each week.
Singer Jewel will be the host of the new program. Production has already started in Los Angeles.
The contestants will be living together during the duration of the competition and the winner will receive a cash prize of 100,000 USD, a publishing contract with Sony and a recording contract with RCA/Jive.
