Sci-fi movie “The Day the Earth Stood Still” delivered a much needed victory for 20th Century Fox when it topped the weekend box office.

Keanu Reeves‘ sci-fi remake, which was largely mocked by critics, sold an estimated $31 million worth of tickets in the United States and Canada and around $70 million worldwide since opening on Friday.
