Korean pop superstar Rain was sued by his promoter over his abrupt cancellation of a 2007 concert in Hawaii, The Korea Times reported.

The gig was canceled just days before the scheduled June 15 performance, disappointing thousands of fans who paid as much as $300 per ticket and flew to Honolulu from as far away as South Korea and Japan.

Rain, 26, whose real name is Jeong Ji-hoon, was also sued by his Los Angeles promoter after calling off a concert less than two hours prior to opening at the Staples Center in 2007. Performances in San Francisco, Atlanta and New York were also canceled.

The civil trial against the so called โ€˜Koreanโ€™ Justin Timberlake is scheduled to begin Tuesday in U.S. District Court.
