Kristen Stewart Offered Snow White Role
Reports are circulating that the title role for the upcoming 2012 film Snow White and the Huntsman has been offered to the star of The Twilight Saga film franchise.
Universal Pictures is said to be currently talking with Kristen Stewart to take the role.
The actresses who are in the short-list are Selena Gomez and Dakota Fanning.
Other actors currently in the final talks to be listed as part of the cast are Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn of The Lord of the Rings) as Eric the Hunstman and Academy Award winner Charlize Theron as Ravenna the Evil Queen. The role for the prince charming has not been offered to anyone yet.
Johnny Depp was previously offered the role of Eric but he turned it down. Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie were also considered for Ravenna.
The film, which will be directed by Rupert Sanders and written by Evan Daugherty, is scheduled for a December 21, 2012 release. It is one of the three high profile Snow White films currently in the works in Hollywood.
One of these films is Snow White and the Seven, a Disney animation project with a plot set in China. The other film The Brother’s Grimm: Snow White is from Relativity Media and talks abound that Julia Roberts will play the evil queen in this version.
