La Liga: FC Barcelona vs. Valencia CF
FC Barcelona‘s perfect record from six La Liga clashes comes under threat tonight when the Catalan gians take on Valencia CF in arguably their toughest test so far.
It looks like Thierry Henry will be out of action, but they still have Lionel Messi and the rest of the squad to rely on. And with a 100 percent record, we’re sure Pep Guardiola’s side will want to make it 7 wins in a row.
Henry was injured playing for France and will be sidelined for around 10 days. Xavi Hernandez was also hurt representing Spain, but has since recovered and could start against Los Che.
Messi will definitely play for Barca tonight, in spite of the tough schedule and travel back from South America, after representing Argentina for its two World Cup qualifying matches.
Valencia striker David Villa will only be risked against the visiting champs if he has fully recovered from a thigh injury. The absence of the 27-year-old striker would be an advantage for Barca but it would be a much better contest if he were fit.
The match kicks-off at 10:00 p.m. CET (4:00 p.m. ET).
UPDATE: Barca’s perfect record in the Spanish League ended after being held to a goalless draw at Valencia.
