La Liga: Real Madrid vs. Sporting Gijon

Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini will be under the spotlight as his side takes on Real Sporting de Gijon at El Molinon tonight for another exciting La Liga clash.

Los Blancos’ thrilling 3-2 Champions League defeat to Milan on Wednesday night was the club’s second loss in three matches and saw the 56-year-old tactician booed by a section of the Bernabeu.

However, in a recent interview, Pellegrini said: “I know criticizing Real’s coach is normal. I have had five years in Spain and I’ve always seen how all those who have been here have been criticized so I do not expect different treatment.”

Meanwhile two more Madrid strikers–Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain–are unavailable for tonight’s match. Benzema is injured in both feet and Higuain has a muscle problem in his left leg.

The match kicks-off at 20:00 CET (2:00 pm ET).

UPDATE: Los Blancos dropped two points in the title race with a 0-0 draw at Sporting Gijon as they failed to score for the first time this season.
