La Liga: Real Madrid vs. Almeria

Real Madrid vs Almeria Live Stream

Second placed Real Madrid takes on U.D. Almeria tonight hoping to bounce back from their bitter defeat to FC Barcelona last Saturday.

After exiting the UEFA Champions League and the Copa del Rey, Real needed to win against the Mediterraneo club to keep their title hopes alive. Los Blancos’ 2-0 defeat to Barca has left them trailing the champions by six points with seven games remaining.

Almeria is currently in the middle of the La Liga standings, and Juan Manuel Lillo’s men will want to improve their stats with a memorable win against Real, which would secure their spot in next season’s top flight.

Meanwhile, Raul Gonzalez will be out of action for at least two weeks. The veteran striker hurt his right knee during El Clasico and tests carried out on Monday have indicated that he had damaged his meniscus ligament.

Coach Manuel Pellegrini is also without the injured Kaka, Pepe, Raul, Royston Drenthe and Christoph Metzelder, while Ezequiel Garay is suspended.

The match kicks-off at 20:00 CET (2:00 p.m. ET).

UPDATE: Cristiano Ronaldo and Rafael van der Vaart both scored for Real Madrid as the Spanish giants defeated Almeria 2-1 at Estadio del Mediterraneo.
