La Liga: Real Madrid vs. Almeria

Los Blancos will try to bounce back from their defeat against Barcelona in El Clasico as they welcome Almeria to the Bernabeu tonight (20:00 CET) in another exciting La Liga showdown.

Barca are still unbeaten in the league this season but face a tough trip to high-flying Deportivo La Coruna later this evening in what is their third game in a week.

Madrid will welcome back Cristiano Ronaldo for his first home game in over two months, but are likely to be without Kaka after he aggravated a groin strain that has forced him to train apart from the rest of the squad.

The Spanish giants managed to climb to the top of La Liga without CR9 but now his role is even more significant with the Brazilian playmaker sidelined.

Sitting in 13th place in the standings with just 12 points, it seems that Almeria looks a bit lost, having failed to make a push for a title this season by crashing out of the Copa del Rey.

UPDATE: Real Madrid needed a late comeback to beat Almeria 4-2, a result that leaves the Spanish giants two points behind leaders Barca in the La Liga standings.
