La Liga: Real Madrid vs. Osasuna

Real Madrid faces one of its most difficult games of the season as it takes on Osasuna this evening (21:00 CET).

The Spanish giants will play away to Jose Camacho’s side at Estadio Reyno de Navarra, with the hope of cutting Barca’s lead at the top of the La Liga table.

The Catalans have 40 points from 16 games, with Real in second on 37 ahead of tonight’s match. Both clubs have a goal difference of plus 27.

The stadium in Pamplona is nothing compared to other gigantic arenas in Spain, but the 20,000 plus fans who pack in to follow their team usually creates one of the most hostile environments for Los Blancos.

Meanwhile Kaka has shaken off a groin problem but coach Manuel Pellegrini has decided not to risk the Brazilin midfielder for tonight’s game.

“He [Kaka] trained as normal this week but he’s still not ready to return,” the Chilean explained at a news conference. “He needs time to get up to rhythm.”

UPDATE: Real Madrid missed the chance to replace Barca at the top of La Liga standings after being held to a disappointing goalless draw at Osasuna.
