La Liga: Real Madrid vs. Valencia

Last weekend Valencia recorded an important win over Athletic Bilbao. They haven’t lost since September in any competition, and tonight will be tested again in La Liga when they face second-place Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo misses out through suspension following his red card for violent conduct against Almeria last weekend, while Kaka is sidelined through injury, meaning the Spanish giants must do without 164 million euros worth of talent for the game.

The absence of Kaka and Ronaldo comes with Madrid needing to prove they can win the big games. And Xabi Alonso is confident that Los Blancos are not a one-man team and they will cope without the two superstars.

The match kicks-off at 22:00 CET.

UPDATE: Two goals from Gonzalo Higuain and an 83rd-minute winner from substitute defender Ezequiel Garay gave Real Madrid a 3-2 victory in Valencia’s Mestalla Stadium.
