Lady Gaga Leads VMA Nominees

The MTV Video Music Awards nominees are in, and Lady Gaga is all over the place. Gaga grabbed a record 13 nominations on Tuesday, giving her the most chances to bring home a moonman during the awarding ceremonies to be held on September 12.

The 24-year-old singer’s “Bad Romance” is nominated in the Best Pop Video, Best Female Video, Best Dance Music Video, and Video of the Year categories. Gaga, aside from having the most nominations for a single VMA event, also earned the distinction of being the first female artist to have two entries in the Video of the Year battle, as her collaboration with Beyonce, “Telephone,” is also up for a moonman in the coveted category.

Fighting it out with Gaga for the most nominations was Eminem, whose latest album, “Recovery,” has topped the Billboard Top 200 albums chart since its release in June. Eminem received eight nominations, including Video of the Year for “Not Afraid.” The rapper is also nominated in the Best Male Video and Best Hip-Hop Video categories, among others.
