Lake Champlain Bridge Demolition (VIDEO)


Lake Champlain Bridge, the 2,184-foot-long span bridge between Crown Point, N.Y and Addison, Vermont was demolished into the icy lake, Monday. Controlled explosions brought the Bridge down in less than ten seconds.

The bridge was closed October 16 when Engineers found out that the bridge’s condition was not safe enough to function properly because of severe erosion to its concrete piers.

Construction of the new span bridge is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2011.
