Lakers beat Suns on Ron Artest’s buzzer-beater (video)
Kobe Bryant finished with 30 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists for the Los Angeles Lakers, but Ron Artest was the unlikely hero of the night.
The 2004 NBA Defensive Player of the Year nailed a game-winning shot after rebounding Bryant’s miss to pull the Lakers to a 103-101 victory over the gritty Phoenix Suns on Thursday.
Kobe missed a difficult shot from the three-point territory, but Artest rolled into the lane, grabbed the ball under the basket and threw up a wild bank shot that somehow went in.
The Lakers will take a 3-2 series lead into Saturday’s Game 6 at US Airways Center in Arizona.
