Lakers win game five over Nuggets
Kobe Bryant scored 22 points and Lamar Odom added 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Denver Nuggets 103-94 in game five of their Western Conference finals.
This was by far Odom’s first significant appearance of the series, and just the second time since the opening round against Utah that he’s scored more than 10 points in a game.
Pau Gasol had 14 points and 10 rebounds while Derek Fisher and Trevor Ariza chipped in 12 points each for Los Angeles.
Carmelo Anthony finished with a game-high 31 points for Denver, who led 73-66 late in the third quarter before the Lakers finally took control at a packed Staples Center. The Nuggets were limited to just 38 percent shooting from the field.
L.A. will try to wrap up the series when Denver hosts Game 6 Friday.
