Lawyer Ordered Own Assassination; Clears Guatemalan President
Guatemala President Alvaro Colom (pictured) breathed a sigh of relief after investigations found out that lawyer Rodrigo Rosenberg Marzano orchestrated his own death, contrary to the latter’s claim in a video message that the President was out to kill him.
The investigation was handled by the United Nations agency International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG). They discovered that Rosenberg planned his own assassination by contacting cousins of his former wife to kill a man who was extorting and threatening him. The cousins hired 11 hit men who carried out the murder. Truth is, there was no extortionist and that Rosenberg himself would be the target.
Before he was shot dead, a video by the lawyer was released claiming that the president and the first Lady were planning to murder him and that it would be their fault if he is found dead.
Newspaper The Guatemala Times reported that Rosenberg is dismayed over the murders and money-laundering activities of Colom He claims that the death of his client Khalil Musa and his daughter Marjorie Musa were ordered by the president. Marjorie is Rosenberg’s girlfriend.
The agenda of Rosenberg over the played out assassination was to topple the government. It almost had been that way as thousands of protesters packed the streets and sparked reform movements.
Colom had insisted from the very beginning that he is innocent of Rosenberg’s murder.
