LeBron James Embarrasses Cavs in Return to Cleveland
LeBron James reminded the Cavaliers what they were missing on Thursday, dominating his former team in his first time back in Cleveland since he bolted the club for the Miami Heat during the summer.
James torched the net for 38 points to help the Heat beat the Cavs, 118-90, in a game where Cleveland fans came in full force to frustrate their former franchise player only to end up disappointed. A deafening cacophony of boos echoed inside the Quicken Loans Arena every time James handled the ball, but the two-time league MVP always had a ready smile and a basket to silence the crowd.
In the end, it was James who came out the victor in a much-anticipated meeting that the Cavs had hoped would be payback for what the club believed was a betrayal by its former top player when he joined the Heat this summer. James did most of his damage in the third quarter when he scored 24 points on 10 of 12 shooting. He sat out the fourth quarter as the Heat rolled to their third-straight victory to improve to 12-8.
