Levi Johnston to Seek Public Office in Alaska
Sarah Palin‘s two-time would-be son-in-law could soon contest for her former seat as city mayor of Wasilla, Alaska. Levi Johnston, whose biggest claim to fame is being the on-again and off-again fiancé of Palin’s daughter Bristol, is reportedly keen on running as mayor of the city of Wasilla.
Johnston’s manager, Tank Jones, said that his ward is indeed considering running for Mayor of Wasilla as part of a proposed reality show. The show, produced by Stone and Co., has yet to get a network carrier, but shooting has already begun. The show will reportedly be called as “Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor’s Office.”
Johnston said that the idea of running for the position previously held by Palin from 1996-2002 came from producers Scott Stone and David Weintraub, but he eventually accepted the proposal after seeing that he has a chance in the election set to be held in 2011. “I think there’s a possibility we can make it happen,” he said, adding that it is something that he wants to do.
The show, if it pushes through, will chronicle not only Johnston’s campaign, but also his day-to-day life as a father to his and Bristol Palin’s son, Tripp.
