Lindsay Lohan Posts Bail, Avoids Arrest

No police escorts would be waiting for Lindsay Lohan when the actress returns to the United States from France, where she attended the Cannes Film Festival. Hours after Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel issued an arrest warrant against Lohan for missing a Thursday court date related to her probation, her lawyers posted a bond of $100,000 to have the warrant recalled.

Lohan was originally scheduled to return to Los Angeles on Thursday but missed her plane after her passport was allegedly stolen. Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, said the 23-year-old actress will be back in the U.S. on Friday. Judge Revel has yet to set the date for Lohan’s next court hearing.

The hearing seeks to determine if Lohan has violated her 2007 probation, which was imposed after she pleaded guilty to several charges, including drug and driving violations. Lohan is prohibited from taking alcohol and is required to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet under the terms of her probation. She is also currently trying to finish an alcohol-education program.
