Lindsay Lohan’s Lawyer Dismisses Jewelry Theft Allegations
Lindsay Lohan is not a jewelry thief, the actress’ lawyer said on Saturday as reports came out that the “Parent Trap” star took a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, California store last month.
Lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley said her client was not involved in a possible theft case at the Kamofie & Co. jewelry shop in Venice. The necklace was reported missing on January 22, according to reports. “We vehemently deny these allegations and, if charges are filed, we will fight them in court, not in the press,” Chapman said. The allegations came out just about a month since Lohan finished her latest rehab stint and while the troubled actress is on the process of trying to salvage whatever is left of her once-promising career.
Police were able to secure a warrant to search Lohan’s house in the Venice area, but the necklace was reportedly turned in to authorities before the court order could be served.
If the charge proves to be true, it might lead to another jail term for Lohan, who is still under probation for a 2007 drunken driving case.
