Lakers vs. Nuggets Game 6 West finals

Tonight is when the Los Angeles Lakers should finish the Western Conference finals against Denver.

The Lakers have been in this position three times before in the playoffs. They were up 2-1 with a Game 4 in Houston. They lost. The Lakers were up 3-2 with a Game 6 at the Toyota Center. They were defeated.

Sure they have Game 7 to fall back on in L.A. but that’s too much risk. Tonight, the Lakers should have a balanced and even scoring across the board. Kobe has to be patient if he wants to win. After all, this is not a one-man show.

In Game 5, he scored 22 points and Lamar Odom added 19 points and 14 boards. This was by far Odom’s first significant appearance of the series.

Pau Gasol is also a key element in tonight’s game. He needs to score more than 20 points for this team to really be effective. Game 6 starts 9 p.m. EDT.

Prediction: The Lakers will finish off the Nuggets and advance to the NBA Finals.

UPDATE: The Los Angeles Lakers are headed back to the NBA finals for the second-straight season after closing out the Denver Nuggets 119-92 Friday in Game 6 of the Western Conference championship. Read the full story here.
