Logan Lerman as Next Spiderman
The 18 year old actor who was recently featured as Percy Jackson in Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is said to be “almost 100% locked” to the role.
The Spiderman franchise will go on a reboot after creative differences cannot be settled for a fourth installment. This led star Tobey Maguire and director Sam Raimi to leave the franchise last January.
Lerman was first considered as the replacement sometime in February.
Asked about the possibility of being the web-slinging hero, he replied, “To be honest, it’s a role that any young actor is dying to play and I’m just hoping to be considered … I’m just a huge fan… That’s all I can say. Spider-Man is just an awesome comic book series. There’s millions of actors out there who want to play the role. I’m just one of them.”
He previously starred in the movies The Patriot, 3:10 to Yuma and Gamer. In television he played the role of a future US president in Jack & Bobby.
