Lorenzen Wright Found Dead
Former NBA center Lorenzen Wright has been found dead, ten days after he was reported missing by his family, reports said. Wright’s body was found in a wooded area in southeast Memphis, according to police reports.
Wright was last seen alive on July 19 in Memphis, where he visited his friends and six children. His sister said the former University of Memphis star was supposed to leave for Atlanta with his children when he disappeared. A report by Collierville police said Wright may have been carrying an unspecified amount of cash when he went missing.
Wright, 34, was picked 7th overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1996 NBA Draft. He was traded to the Atlanta Hawks in 1999 before being transferred to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2001. He played for the Grizzlies until 2006, when he was traded back to the Hawks. He last played in the NBA for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2008-2009 season.
