Mad Men Characters Immortalized as Barbie Dolls

Mad-men-logoMattel, makers of the popular Barbie doll, announced that it will feature a doll set featuring the characters of the hit drama television series Mad Men.

The announcement came Wednesday, March 10.

The characters who will be given a miniature version are Donald Francis “Don” Draper, Elizabeth “Betty” Draper, Joan Harris and Roger Sterling, Jr. The show is being broadcasted from AMC cable television network.

Barbie has been around since 1959 and has maintained a wholesome image ever since. She has a male friend introduced in 1961 named Ken.

The Emmy Award winner for Best Drama series, meanwhile, projects a story about men and women in the 1960s who goes through all sorts of scandals including love affairs while solving business problems.

The dolls will be released in July with around 7,000 to 10,000 copies. It will cost $74.95 each. The set will be featured in the upcoming DVD release of the show’s third season.
