Malin Akerman Replaces Lindsay Lohan in “Inferno”
Malin Akerman has been tapped to play 70s porn star Linda Lovelace in the film “Inferno,” replacing troubled young star Lindsay Lohan.
Producer Chris Hanley said they decided to go with Akerman, whose film credits includes “Watchmen,” “Couple’s Retreat,” and “The Proposal,” because the 32-year-old Swedish beauty “has the talent” to credibly play “Deep Throat” star Lovelace. “Malin was passionate to take this challenge of the role to task,” Hanley said.
The announcement came after producers of the film finally ended the waiting game with Lohan, who is currently in rehab. “Lindsay had scheduling issues due to legal obligations and is continuing to focus on getting better in rehabilitation in Palm Springs, and she really had to focus on that in our opinion – and hers,” Hanley said. Aside from rehab stint, the producers also had difficulty getting insurance for Lohan, reports said.
Lohan is expected to stay in rehab until early January.
