Man arrested for 153rd time
A man from Portsmouth, Maine was arrested for the 153rd time Sunday, one week after he completed a one-year jail sentence for stealing a $1.99 can of beer.
Paul Baldwin is back in Rockingham County House of Corrections after he allegedly punched a man in the face at a local market. He was arraigned June 1 via video on that charge and two violation-level offenses.
The 49-year-old told the court he didn’t want a lawyer and was prepared to plead guilty.
Baldwin’s record dates back to 1984 and includes 152 other arrests. Police said some of the arrests weren’t criminal, but were instances in which Baldwin was taken into protective custody.
If there’s some sort of Guinness World Record for the most number of times a man has been arrested, Baldwin is definitely a contender!
