Man with Knife Sticking Out of His Chest Enters Diner, Orders Coffee and Waited for Paramedics
A man with a five-inch knife sticking at his chest casually entered a Michigan diner, ordered coffee then sat down and waited for the paramedics whom he have called via 911 minutes earlier, MSNBC reports.
The still unidentified man was walking down Nine Mile and Dequindre in Warren going to his friend who lives in Eight Mile when he was approached by a black man, whom he described as in his 40s, approximately 6’2”, medium built, has a goatee and was wearing a red parka with the hood up.
The “assailant” demanded money and when the “victim” cannot produce any, the “suspect” stabbed the 52-year old resident.
He immediately asked for help in the nearby apartment but couldn’t find any. He called 911 from a pay phone and asked them to send the paramedics to Brayz’s Hamburgers in Hazel Park.
He went on then inside the diner at around 10 PM, ordered the coffee and sat down to wait. All of those time, the weapon, which he described as a stake knife, was sticking out from his chest, with only the black plastic handle visible.
People eating at the diner and the staff were amazed at how calm he was in the face of his situation describing him to be relatively calm.
“To come in with something stuck in your chest and order a cup of coffee, and sit down … he was mingling with the guy next to him,” diner employee George Mirdita said.
The Hazel Park Fire Department treated him on the spot then transferred him to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was declared that he will recover. The local police is currently investigating the case.
