Michael Lynche Saved In American Idol
It’s a surprise week for Michael Lynche after being voted out by America then saved by the judges in the latest season of American Idol. This means that there will be two contestants that will be eliminated next week.
Lynche, who was hailed from St. Petersburg, Florida, performed Eleanor Rigby in answer to this week’s theme which is the Lennon/McCartney songbook. The judges used its single power to save on him.
The save can only be used once each season and is up for grabs until the top five.
The other finalists named at the bottom three are Aaron Kelly, and Andrew Garcia.
The performance night was also full of surprises where two instruments were used that are not commonly seen in the Idol stage. They are the didgeridoo and the bagpipe. Videos of the contestants describing each other were shown as the introductory piece before they sing as there was an absence of a mentor this week. Meanwhile, judge Simon Cowell was heckled by someone from the audience.
Guest performances were rendered by Jason Derulo who sang In My Head, Rihanna who sang Rockstar 101 and season 7 runner-up David Archuleta who played the Beatles song Imagine which he performed during the top 20 performance night two years ago when the Lennon/McCartner songbook was also featured as a theme.
Next week, the intact nine contenders will be mentored by last year’s runner-up Adam Lambert in a still unnamed theme.
