Michelle, Malia, Sasha and Bo Make Traditional Christmas Hospital Visit
US First Lady Michelle Obama, First Daughters Malia and Sasha and First Dog Bo visited the Children’s National Medical Center Tuesday, December 22, to follow in tradition where all First Ladies since Bess Truman visits the hospital.
During the first lady’s storytelling of A Visit from Saint Nicholas, the Portuguese water dog kept on interrupting her. However, Mrs. Obama defended Bo by saying, “He hasn’t seen Santa before.”
The daughters meanwhile, read Snowmen at Night.
Then the first surprise came when the first lady asked the children if they have any questions for her daughters.
A question posted was how would Christmas be different this year. Sasha said that it would be easier to get to the plane this year much to the laughter of all who were listening. The Obamas always spent Christmas in Hawaii, President Barack Obama’s home state.
Asked what they will be giving the president this Christmas, the first lady said some sports stuff while Sasha said something he likes.
Then the number of Christmas trees in the White House was inquired. After conferring with an aide, the Mrs. Obama said twenty-six then Malia added that not all have presents under them.
Then for the question what is the their favorite Christmas song, they answered Carol of the Bells and Jingle Bells
