Michelle Obama Inaugural Ball Dress Goes to…
The famous inaugural ball dress that US First Lady Michelle Obama used was donated to the Smithsonian Museum of American History.
The new addition brings the number presidential spouse dresses in the museum to 24. Dresses of former first ladies Mary Todd Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jacqueline Kennedy and Nancy Reagan are already part of the historical display called First Ladies Collection.
Obama, who still cannot understand the fuss over her dresses, was present at the Museum when the dress was turned over.
“I am very honored and very humbled, but I have to say that I’m also a little embarrassed by all the fuss being made over my dress,” she stated during the presentation.
The gown was designed by 27 year old Jason Wu. The dress is described as a one-shouldered, white-silk chiffon gown embellished with organza flowers with Swarovski crystal centers. He joined the First Lady at the Smithsonian.
