Microsoft unveils Windows 7 for mobile (video)
Microsoft has launched the latest version of its mobile operating system at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
The new platform, called Windows Phone 7 Series, focuses more closely on social-networking and real-time information. It has been entirely redesigned so that users no longer need to go in and out of applications.
The default search and map services are provided by Bing, and the software giant says all Windows Phone 7 devices will come with a dedicated hardware button for them.
The first phones using the new OS will be available later this year from manufacturers including Samsung, LG, HTC and Sony Ericsson.
