‘Miracle on the Hudson’ plane for sale

The US Airways jet that Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger landed safely on the Hudson River a year ago is up for sale.

The plane is being sold online by Chartis insurance firm, minus its engines which were knocked out during the miracle landing. I’m not sure what you could do with a heavily damaged aircraft (with possible traces of bird feathers), but if you want to own a piece of aviation history you can now bid on that Airbus A320 at Aigaviation.com.

According to TMZ, Several passengers on that flight have been calling Chartis trying to buy a commemorative piece of the plane. However, the firm says it will sell the banged-up aircraft in one big chunk, not pieces.

The Airbus is being held on a lot in Kearney, New Jersey until the auction takes place. People can bid through March 27.
