Mom faces infanticide raps
MANILA, Philippines–Police said Sunday a mother suspected to have placed her newly born baby boy inside the septic tank of an empty house on Friday afternoon would face infanticide charges.
Supt. Marcus Badilla, Dasmarinas police chief, said the baby was found dead at 3:30 p.m. by Fernando Pepito Sr. inside the septic tank of a vacant house in San Marino, Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Pepito Sr. told police he suspected his son’s live-in partner, identified only as Zenaida, as having put the baby in the septic tank.
PO3 Edgar Belza, police investigator, said Zenaida was in the hospital as of Sunday due to severe bleeding but the baby was already dead when found by relatives.
