Mosque Flak Hounds Obama

US President Barack Obama is again currently in hot waters following his statement about a mosque to be built near ground zero.

Despite said controversies, the White House announced on Saturday that the US President will not renege on his remarks Friday night wherein he stated his support for a project that has gained the ire of families whose loved ones perished in the 9/11 attacks.

According to the political analysts’ website Politico.com, this statement has put him in the middle of the controversy “over a Muslim group’s plans for a mosque near the site of the 2001 attack — and in turn, transformed an emotion-laden local dispute in New York into a nationwide debate overnight.”

Regarding this growing controversy, Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida said: “It is divisive and disrespectful to build a mosque next to the site where 3,000 innocent people were murdered at the hands of Islamic extremism.”
