Wimbledon 2009: Andy Murray vs. Viktor Troicki

World No. 3 Andy Murray faces Viktor Troicki this afternoon at Wimbledon tennis tournament in England.

The 31st-ranked Serbian, who came through a tough five-setter with Spain’s Daniel Gimeno-Traver to set up the third round clash with Murray, admitted he can’t wait for his first taste of Centre Court action.

Murray has elevated his game to such a level that he is now a genuine sporting superstar. He is Britain’s favorite to bring home a Championship and by the way he’s played the first two rounds he’s looking very good.

Last year at SW19, the 22-year-old hit the target with 57 per cent of his first serves and averaged 117mph on the speed clock. This year the figures are 65 per cent and 119mph.

The match starts at 13:00 local time (08:00 ET).

UPDATE: Murray beat  Troicki 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 and will now face Switzerland’s Stanilas Wawrinka for a place in the quarter-finals.
