Natalie Portman Gives Birth
Natalie Portman and partner Benjamin Millepied are the proud new parents of a baby boy.
People Magazine reported on Wednesday that the 30-year-old actress gave birth to her first child. The baby’s name has yet to be known. The baby’s arrival continues Portman’s winning streak since signing on to Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan.” Portman met fiancé Millepied while filming the critically acclaimed psychological thriller. Millepied was the ballet choreographer in the film where Portman played a mentally unstable ballerina. More than a week after “Black Swan” was released in December, Portman announced that she was pregnant with the 34-year-old Frenchman’s baby and that they were engaged. A couple of months after the big announcement, Portman won an Oscar best actress trophy at the 83rd Academy Awards.
Prior to “Black Swan,” Portman was best known for her role as Padme Amidala in the three “Star Wars” films that were released between 1999 and 2005. She has appeared in three films in the first half of 2011, including in the box-office hit “Thor.”
