Italian winemaker Vini Lunardelli has sparked criticism for producing bottles of wine featuring Adolf Hitler (and a bunch of other Nazis) on the label.
According to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, American lawyer Matthew Hirsch was vacationing with her wife in Garda, northern Italy when the couple spotted the “offensive” wines in a small supermarket. Hirsch complained to a store employee after seeing the labels, but the shopkeeper allegedly told him that the bottles were just part of history, “like Mussolini, like Che Guevara.”
Local prosecutors are currently making inquiries, and remaining bottles of the Hitler wine have been pulled from the store where Hirsch first saw them.
