NBA: LA Lakers vs. Orlando Magic
The Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic meet in a rematch from last year’s NBA Finals this afternoon at Amway Arena. And when these two teams collide, you know that it’s gonna be an exciting match.
They have met once this season (January 18) and Los Angeles handed Orlando a 98-92 setback at the Staples Center. Shannon Brown notched a career-high 22 points, Pau Gasol added 17 points and 10 rebounds while Kobe Bryant was held to just 11 points.
The Magic are coming off a victory at New Jersey—their fourth in a row. The Lakers, on the other hand, have lost both games on their current road trip, losing to the Miami Heat and Charlotte Bobcats.
Coach Phil Jackson said Kobe would likely play despite being a little late to the game because of a stomach illness. It was unclear how the 31-year-old shooting guard contracted the disease, although Jackson speculated that Kobe likely ate something that didn’t sit well.
In this match, I want LA to win and put an end to their losing streak. But I think the Magic will likely return the favor and beat the Lakers in a nail-biter before a national TV audience.
The game starts at 2:30 p.m. ET.
UPDATE: Vince Carter led a balanced attack with 25 points as the Magic defeated the Lakers 96-94 in a rematch of last season’s NBA Finals.
