NHL Playoffs 2010: Phoenix Coyotes vs. Detroit Red Wings Game 4
Coyotes vs. Red Wings Live Stream: The Detroit Red Wings will try to even their series with the Phoenix Coyotes when the puck drops at the Joe Louis Arena tonight.
The Coyotes were defeated 7-4 at home on Friday night but they regained the series lead on Sunday, thanks to goals from Sami Lepisto, Wojtek Wolski, Petr Prucha and Radim Vrbata. And after that 4-2 loss, Mike Babcock’s men realized they need the appropriate changes to make things more difficult for the Coyotes’ defense in the offensive zone.
“Phoenix is a hell of a team,” said defenseman Niklas Kronwall. “They did a great job in the regular season and they keep doing it in the postseason. They play really hard, and they play hard every shift.”
Meanwhile, here’s some bad news for Phoenix fans: Shane Doan will miss tonight’s game because of an upper-body injury. The 33-year-old captain was injured two minutes into the second period in Game 3 when he stumbled over goaltender Jimmy Howard and crashed his right shoulder into the boards.
“He’s better, but he’s not going to play,” Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. “We have two days before the next game and we feel like it’s best to wait.”
The Wings will be desperate tonight and I wouldn’t be surprised if they win this game easily. The match kicks-off at 6:30 p.m. ET.
UPDATE: The Red Wings beat the Coyotes, 3-0, in Game 4 of the Western Conference quarterfinals. The series goes back to Glendale tied at two.
