Nicholas Allegra aka Comex joins Apple as intern

Comex Apple Intern

Yes, you read that right: Nicholas Allegra, better known as the infamous iOS hacker Comex, is joining Apple as an intern. The 19-year-old Brown University student behind JailbreakMe.com announced the news via Twitter that he will indeed be heading to Cupertino “the week after next.”

Jailbreaking is the process of removing the limitations imposed by Apple on devices running the iOS operating system through use of custom kernels. Performing a jailbreak can, however, void Apple’s warranty for the device. Using the website JailBreakMe.com, millions of iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users have been able to easily jailbreak their devices, opening them up to run unauthorized apps.

Apparently, Apple wants to develop Nick’s talent for safe and legal use. However, this isn’t the first time the tech giant has hired from the jailbreak community. Earlier this year, MobileNotifier developer Peter Hajas was chosen as an Apple intern.
