Nicolas Cage Arrested
Nicolas Cage has been taken into custody on domestic abuse and disturbing the peace charges after he allegedly engaged in a shouting match with wife Alice Kim and later taunted responding police officers to arrest him, TMZ said in a report.
According to a witness cited by TMZ, the 47-year-old actor was “very drunk” when he started arguing with his wife on the streets of New Orleans. The report said a cab driver who saw the couple fighting called the police. When the police arrived, Cage and his wife were reportedly told to just go home, but instead of heeding the advice, the “National Treasure” actor allegedly challenged the cops to arrest him.
TMZ says Kim did not file a complaint and is not keen on charging Cage, who won an Academy Award Best Actor trophy for his role as a suicidal alcoholic in the 1995 drama “Leaving Las Vegas.” Cage and Kim, a former waitress, have been married since 2004 and have a son, Kal-El.
