Nikon sees D5000 issue, quick to address it
Nikon has released today that it has officially recognized that some of its sales models of the D5000 DSLR may have defective components that are not completely in accordance to their manufacturing and factory standards. The side-effect – your D5000 will not turn on all the time.
Nikon does state that not all D5000 cameras are affected by the issue, saying that a detection tool will be published online by the company sometime around July 23. Unfortunately, to be certain whether or not your D5000 camera is actually affected will have to wait until that date.
If you think that you might be affected, be sure to visit the Nikon service advisory page related to this issue, and be sure to keep updated on any developments.
