Nintendo Showcases 3DS; Legend of Zelda Updates
More news coming in from the ongoing E3 2010.
Nintendo showcased its latest upgrade of its popular handheld gaming device. Those who attended the Nintendo E3 Conference were able to examine and try a prototype of the Nintendo 3DS. The device boasts of being able to display 3D images without the aid of glasses, something that the company executives used to mock 3D HDTVs that require glasses for viewing.
Meanwhile, the 16th and latest installment of the franchise The Legend of Zelda has been announced. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword makes its debut in 2011 for the Wii console.
Also, rumors abound that the most highly appraised installment of the franchise will get a remake for the Nintendo 3DS. Screenshots suggesting that such a remake for The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time surfaced at the IGN and Nintendo E3 websites. The company, however, is not giving any comments regarding the matter.
The Ocarina of Time garnered high scores from various review magazines and sites. It earned perfect scores from IGN, Famitsu, Electronic Gaming Monthly, Edge and in GameSpot. It is only one out of seven games to receive a perfect score from GameSpot.
