NY Yankees owner dies due to heart attack
The man that built the New York Yankees sports empire died today.
George Steinbrenner, the legendary owner of the New York Yankees, had died due to a severe heart attack. He was 80 years old.
Steinbrenner had recently been rushed to the hospital. He had expired at around 6:30 A.M. Tuesday morning.
The family of Steinbrenner was quoted by the New York Times as to have said: “He was an incredible and charitable man. He was a visionary and a giant in the world of sports. He took a great but struggling franchise and turned it into a champion again.”
The man was known for many accomplishments, including his mark in earning 7 World Series Championship Teams.
This tragic loss came just right after he had celebrated his 80th birthday last July 4.
