joobwafel, again you are only speculating that private health care will go away on its own. If it does go away, its because the system is broken and corrupt as it is, that is how America works, its ultimately in the power of the people to decide what is a better system. Yes, America is pro capitalist, and I consider myself a capitalist. But when you live in the most successful country in the world and people are dying because they cant afford medication or medical procedures there is something very wrong with that system of health care. This is not only an economic issue, but a humanitarian issue as well. Yes, taxes will raise for some, but its for the greater good of the country. Propaganda like this is backed by very rich private businesses. And yes I would definitely prefer to take money from a private industry and give it to someone that I can say I voted for. Socializing health care does not mean our entire economy is socialist, but the government must step in when a system doesn't work properly, thats why we have government in the first place. Who are you to speak on canadian health care anyway? I want to know where you are getting your facts. I never said anyone who disagrees with me is stupid, but ignorance (the lack of knowledge) on an issue is what plagues American society. A delicate mixture or capitalism and socialism is what makes a country work, and we are in the current economic situation we are in because of poor regulation of private business. Bottem line, elected officails vs. CEO's. Ill take the decision of an elected official over a greedy business man any day.

Oodunkin, no one is going to take away Private health insurance, its going to go away on its own. Lets start with Canada, inflation/hight taxes raise the price of everything there a great deal, with the American economy in the state that its in, and the president spending like a drunken sailor this seems to be the direction America is heading in. On average, because of Canada's “national healthcare system” Canadians are taxed on average about 10% higher than americans. Only the super rich, in countries like Canada are able to afford comprehensive and well provided medical services (PRIVATELY PROVIDED). The system that Canadians are paying for with their taxes is 1. over crowded 2. full of terrible doctors 3. a huge black hole for Canadian money. In the Netherlands where I'm from we are in the same situation. Televised news will tell you that this system is working, but all it is, is another way for the government to put your money in their pocket while only providing half of what they promised. America is a pro-capitalist society, this is what put you at the top of the super-power list, destroying private industries such as healthcare is going to undermine the foundation of American economic security and cripple it severely. And before you call me a conservative, you should know that 1. not everyone that disagrees with you is stupid and 2. not everyone that disagrees with you is a conservative. And I'm laughing over the fact that Americans, having never experienced the rule of a socialist government seem to know all about it..

whoever did this certainly had the constitutional right too. but that doesn't mean it's true, or even that clever really. this is blatant propaganda and whoever thinks barack obama is a socialist is simply ignorant. take a political science class for god sake. look at the website for the socialist candidate that ran in the last election. 2 very different political ideals.

Talk to Canadians about healthcare. I have spoken with quite a few and they are unfailingly happy with it. America is being lied to. We need a system exactly like theirs.
