In case you missed it, here’s the full video of President Barack Obama’s speech Tuesday night on the Afghanistan war.
Speaking from Westpoint military academy in New York in front of well-dressed and metallic blue suited cadets, the US president announced his decision to send another 30,000 troops to the Islamic republic to join the fight against the Taliban.
“Because this is an international effort, I have asked that our commitment be joined by contributions from our allies. Some have already provided additional troops, and we are confident that there will be further contributions in the days and weeks ahead,” Obama said.
The reinforcements will be deployed over a period of six months, taking the U.S. force there to more than 100,000.
