US President Barack Obama threw the ceremonial opening pitch at the 2009 Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri.
Didn’t know the prez was a lefty. The ball landed a little short of the plate, but Cardinals star Albert Pujols was able to save it by quickly scooping it up. It wasn’t a perfect strike but he gave the fans a thrill to start Tuesday night’s game.
There were some scattered boos, but more cheers.
This was the second time Obama threw out a first ball at a big league game. As a senator, he did it when his favorite White Sox played the Angels in the 2005 American League championship series.
