Oprah Winfrey is Most Powerful Celebrity
Oprah Winfrey is back on top of the pecking order in Hollywood. The media mogul and daytime talk show queen was ranked number one by Forbes Magazine in its list of most powerful celebrities of 2010.
Winfrey, who lost out to Angelina Jolie last year, earned a total of $315 million from June 2009 to June 2010 while the celebrities included in the top 100 power list had a cumulative earning of $4.7 billion, an increase of $.6 billion from last year.
Winfrey was followed by Beyonce Knowles on the list, edging filmmaker James Cameron of “Avatar” despite earning only $87 million to the director’s $210 million due to her numerous appearances in print, television, radio, and social media.
Controversial music artist Lady Gaga was the highest newcomer on the list at number four with earnings of around $62 million. Tiger Woods, despite his personal problems, maintained his influence as he landed in fifth place and earned $105 million.
Woods was followed by Britney Spears, Irish band U2, Sandra Bullock, Johnny Deoo, and Madonna. Oscar-winner Bullock, who is awaiting final decision of her divorce to bike mogul Jesse James, jumped from 92 to No.8.
