Thousands of Aussies turned up at Sydney’s iconic Opera House on Monday to get naked in the name of art.
New York-based snapper Spencer Tunick, who is famous for his group shots of naked people, posed some 5,200 participants for more than an hour in a variety of positions.
People came in all shapes and sizes and pregnant Amanda Burke even re-scheduled the birth of her twins so she could take part. She said: “We’ve always admired Spencer’s work, so we were willing to put everything on hold to take part in this remarkable event – including our twins.”
Titled Mardi Gras: The Base, the photo shoot was commissioned by the city’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival.
