Pacquiao vs Mayweather bout almost sealed

Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight is set for March 13 wrote Yahoo! Sports’ Kevin Iole, quoting a source.

According to the site, negotiations have gained ground and Mayweather’s camp has already given the thumbs up on the proposed terms. As such, it said it’s now up to Manny to seal the highly-awaited fight.

“Mayweather has agreed to terms and (Pacquiao’s) promoter Bob Arum is making a trip to Manila, Philippines, to finalize a deal with Pacquiao,” the website added.

Negotiations for the potential Pacquiao-Mayweather superbout formally started this week in Las Vegas, with Top Rank’s Arum meeting with Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who represents Mayweather. They had targeted May 1 for the fight but Pacquiao already filed to run for congress in Sarangani, Philippines on Tuesday and the election will be held on May 10 next year so they had to be moved up to March 13 or it can be pushed back until September.

In our previous report, Team Pacquiao was considering fighting against new WBO super welterweight champion Yuri Foreman on March but sources say that it was just a diversionary move and was never serious.
